Monument record TR 06 SW 333 - Medieval Wall and Undated Worked Flint, 6 Stephens Close, Davington, Faversham
Summary
In November 2011 a keyhole excavation took place at No 6 Stephens Close as part of a series of ongoing excavations by Faversham Society Archaeological Research Group ("The Davington Mysteries"). The continuation of a medieval wall which was still standing in a neighbouring garden was uncovered and various worked flints and flinbt flakes were recovered from the soil but did not represent a coherent assemblage. Though the excavation aimed to find the continuation of a ditch from an Iron Age hill fort, this was not discovered.
