Full Description
During a Canterbury Archaeological Trust archaeological watching brief of a path construciton at Langdon Cliffs, the foundation of the former east wall of the former Convict Prison, a small parish boundary ditch and the counterscarp bank of the ditch defending Langdon Battery were discovered.
The parish boundary ditch was the division between the historic parishes of St Margaret at Cliffe and Guston.
There was a conspicuous lack of finds relating to military activity at the site, despite the presence of features relating to military activity.
See report (SKE31321) for precise locations of each feature. All marked as a single feature group on GIS.
