Full Description
The former site of Maydonsole Colliery.
Work commenced at Maydensole in 1910 when two boreholes were sunk and buildings were erected. No shafts were ever sunk but two buildings still exist on the former site. Isolated in a field near East Langdon, these were later used as engine rooms to drive the Tilmanstone to Dover Aerial Ropeway which passed through the abandoned colliery although nothing more remains of the original colliery.
