Monument record TQ 86 SW 147 - Peverel Green
Summary
The Parkwood area was once covered by ancient woodland, early OS maps demonstrate the wood included Fox Burrow Wood to the north and Rainham Park to the south. From the mid-1960s the land majority of the land was replaced by the large-scale development of new housing. Peverel Green is an area of remaining woodland in the middle of the housing estate. There is no evidence of a historic designed landscape or any features of historic significance. The site is used as a green site by the local community.
