Full Description

During an archaeological excavation carried out on the site in 2015 a possible a Levallois flake, made of dark grey flint, was discovered as a surface find. The dorsal face is extensively worked, with a clear striking platform. The flake terminates in a partial hinge fracture. The cause is not obvious (perhaps a flaw in the material or a mistake in the knapping process). A milky patination covers 50% of the dorsal, 30% of the ventral surface. Moderately river rolled, the piece is in good condition. The flake also resembles a scraper to a certain extent, however there is no retouch present in the right place to back up this theory. (1)
