Full Description
The site of the former Coastguard Station at St. Margarets at Cliff. Built in AD1737 to house six men and a boat, it appears on the census records from AD1841 to AD1901 and on the 1st Edition OS map. In addition to the coastguard station cottages, officers quarters (MWX43760), a windlass (on the 2nd Edition OS map) and a rocket post (MWX43933) to the north are shown. The watch house and cottages survive. (1)
