Monument record TQ 97 NW 1093 - Gotha bomb Site, High Street, Bluetown
Summary
In June 1917 Sheerness was bombed by a number of German Gotha bombers. One bomb destroyed a building on this site that is now occupied by the Criterion Theatre and Blue Town Heritage Centre. The remains of shrapnel damage from the blast can be seen in the wall of Sheerness dockyard opposite the Heritage Centre.
