Full Description
The Pinnock Wall was built to retain fresh water for use in Sandwich along an early drove way through the Lydden Valley. The Pinnock Wall survives today and is used as a public footpath. In the early part of the thirteenth century Sandwich constructed the a new channel to bring fresh water to the town. The new channel was encased in wooden walls and in part ran as a raised aqueduct on the Pinnock Wall. (1)
