Full Description
From about 1962 a part of RAF Manston was given over to civilan use as Manston Airport. The remainder of the airfield remained in the hands of the USAF. The original terminal building was constructed in 1962 and continued in use until the new terminal was opened in 1989. In 1998 a CAA licence was obtained to operate Manston as an entirely civilian airport. The airport ceased operations in 2014. (1)
