Full Description
In 2014, a watching brief was carried out during excavation of a cable trench. A chalk and flint layer was discovered now forming the bedding of the modern tarmac road. The excavators believe that this is likely to represent the original Victorian road surface or at least its sub-base. No finds or other features of archaeological interest were found. (1)
