Full Description
A watching brief was carried out at land between 273-275 St Richard's Road, Deal, Kent during machine excavations of foundation trenches for a new development. The foundation trenches were monitored down to the level of the bedrock chalk and the initial 0.5m into this bedrock. No finds or archaeological deposits were found during the watching brief. Three residual prehistoric flint flakes, probably of Neolithic-Bronze age date were recovered from the topsoil. All were crude waste flakes and the excavator believed that they added little in the way of information to further archaeological understanding of the area. (1)
