Full Description
English Heritage Historic Area Assessment for High Halstow Parish, part of the wider Hoo Peninsula study, notes that there was a short-lived brick and tile works established on the Cooling Road to exploit the availability of brickearth. The works were present by the 1880s but had gone by the mid 1890s leaving behind some adjoining clay pits. (1)
