Stoke Community School, Allhallows Road, Lower Stoke, Stoke Parish, mentioned in the English Heritage Historic Area Assessment for Stoke Parish, part of the wider Hoo Peninsula study. It notes that the oldest part of the school dates from 1876 as noted by a stone plaque. It was one of two schools built by the local education board after the 1870 Education Act. The report states: 'The simply detailed brick ranges intended to serve the children of Stoke and Allhallows, was extended in the 1960s. It remains the only Victoria school building still in use on the peninsula.(1)
