Full Description
To the west of the site there was a darkened area. The top 20cm of this area was removed (40 cm below the pavement level) and numerous charcoal fragments were observed. On digging below the surface, an abundance of iron slag indicated some industrial activity, possibly a blacksmiths workshop or forge. To the west of the site there was a darkened area.
