?1946 aerial shows very clearly large semi-circle cluster of accommodation units fronting on Manston Road. German map identifies this as Anti-aircraft defence but ?1946 aerial shows four strange objects to west, most easily identified as concrete bases for Radar aerials. Four aerials were grouped closely together (Chain Home Low Receiving Array?).

RAF/HLA/564 V 6016 01-JUN-1942 aerial photograph shows a large semi-circle cluster of huts with earthen blast walls fronting on Manston Road within a semi-circular enclosure of barbed wire. The spacing of the huts and the interstitial blast walls suggests ammunition storage. Within this enclosure are further structures including a hut, two gun enplacements. To the west of this site are four Heavy Anti-Aircraft gun enmplacements set in a shallow arc. Each is a sub-square embanked (sand-bagged) enclosure with the four concrete internal ammunition lockers visible - (described as mast bases in (1) above). This site is recorded separately -MKE/Pref Ref 125392. The ammunition store adjacent to the Manston Road may have supplied this site and others in the area. All trace of the site has now been removed. This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024 (2-3)
