Monument record TQ 77 SE 1358 - Second World War defence locality at Lodge Hill Anti-aircraft battery - with gun emplacements, military support buildings, barbed wire enclosure.

Summary

This feature is recorded in the English Heritage report on the Second World War Stop Line in the Hoo Peninsula. This feature comprises a Second World War defended locality or military installation centred on the remains of the First World War anti-aircraft battery at Lodge Hill. The site contained gun emplacements, military support buildings, within a rectangular barbed wire enclosure covering about 3 ha. A similar defended position is approximately 800m to the east. The military support buildings may be First World War origin. Additional small gun emplacements and weapons pits were located around the edge of the enclosure.
