Three-storey convalescent home built between 1897 and 1899. Housing fifty male patients and of Canterbury red brick, stone dressings and a tile roof it was designed by A Saxon Snell and erected by Messrs Wall and Co of London. VAD Military Hospital opened in Passmore Edwards Convalescent Home for Friendly Societies.

Full Description

Three-storey convalescent home built between 1897 and 1899. Housing fifty male patients and of Canterbury red brick, stone dressings and a tile roof it was designed by A Saxon Snell and erected by Messrs Wall and Co of London. Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) Hospital of 170 beds opened in the Friendly Societies Convalescent Home in 1916 and closed in 1919. The building is still in use.
