Findspot record TQ 56 SW 230 - Undiagnostic worked and unworked flint pieces, Lullingstone Country Park
Summary
Two pieces of struck flint (22g) and two small unworked burnt flint fragments (32g) were recovered from test pit 2. The struck flint is in poor condition suggesting post depositional disturbance. The flint was not found in situ.
In February 2015 four Geoarchaeological test pits were excavated on the site of a picnic area. The area is the proposed site of a new toddler’s playground. The test pits measured approximated 1.3m by 2.2m, and each was excavated in 50mm spits. Test pit two was the only test pit to yield any archaeological material.
