Full Description
The site of an unmanned Second World War roadblock at High Street, Margate constructed in mid 1940 to counter the threat of German Invasion and recorded in the war diaries of 198 Infantry Brigade – Ref: WO166/1051. (1)
A Second World War anti tank cube, visible as a structure on RAF/HLA/540 RV 6010 17-MAY-1942 appears to form part of the roadblock. The feature is demolished on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. The feature was mapped as part of the Thanet Landscape Mapping Project. (2-3)
