'Munitions dump' shown on 11.1940 Luftwaffe map. Not visible in 1946. (1)

A building complex forming a possible military depot of Second World War date was visible as structures in RAF/HLA/564 V 6020 01-JUN-1942. The group of buildings was located in the north corner of RAF Manston, accessed by a short curving road branching from the main road forming the northern boundary of the outfield and by a path from Manston Road (shpwing as a parchmark or worn ground in RAF/HLA/564 V 6015 01-JUN-1942). A small structure was positioned nearby. A similar arrangement of buildings was located about 400m to the south-west, accessed from Manston Road. These features were recorded as demolished structures in Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. They were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-4)
