Full Description
From the report: "Nine postholes, 0.12-0.18m in diameter and 0.04-0.09m deep, laid out in a three by three grid c. 3m², was recorded in Area 1, and is interpreted as a small timber structure with an elevated floor, possibly a granary or other storage structure. The only find was a piece of undiagnostic worked flint from the posthole at the north-west corner. A tenth, similar posthole (140), c. 2m to the north-west of the structure may be associated with it."
The undated nine-post square structure is a type of building as yet unknown from Sheppey and is therefore of regional importance.
