Full Description
A building assessment was carried out in the warehouses on Cambridge Road in 1996 and again in 1997 ahead of proposals to convert them into retail outlets.
Taken from the source (1997): Building 13 is contemporary with building 12. The first floor room on the north east side appears to be part of the original construction, although the unusual design suggests that its inclusion represents a change in the plans, made when the building work had already started. The lean-to on the south east side of the main structure also appears to be contemporary, probably replacing an earlier structure of similar form, originally constructed as part of building 14. Building 13 was constructed across the site of an earlier building shown on the 1861 map as a workshop. Part of the south west wall of this early structure has subsequently been incorporated into building 14 implying that it had already been demolished before building 13 was erected. (1)
