Full Description
A Neolithic polished flint axe-head was "found embedded in the Brickearth (03) during machining but was clearly residual". The brickearth was found across the majority of Trench 6, so the findspot is only gtenerally located within the trench area.
From the report: "This artefact is of intrinsic interest and provides an indication of Neolithic activity in the local landscape, but as an isolated artefact it can add little to our understanding of the period.". (1)
