Full Description
In July 2004, Arrow Geophysics carried out a ground penetrating radar survey for Foundations Archaeology. The aim of the survey was to locate Victorian cellars beneath the asphalt surface of the car park in advance of clearance and excavation. Data was acquired along four access ways between car parking bays, line spacing was 0.5m in each access way. Three possible Victorian cellars were located during the investigation. The first has horizontal dimensions of about three by three metres as well as significant depth extent at its western end. The second has horizontal dimensions of at least 4.5 by 2m and a depth extent of approximately 0.75m. The final cellar is only a possible feature as it shows intermittent prominence across the survey block. (1)
