Full Description

From the report:

Post-medieval enclosure (OA17): "Marked on the 1st Edition map of 1872 as a boundary of woodland and orchard, this boundary bank measures c. 2m in width x c. 0.6 in height and topped by old grown-out coppice. The northern side of the enclosure is up to 4m in width and up to 1.4m in height. The southern boundary is the coppiced bank of the trackway OA 27. This feature is also shown on the LiDAR plan."

Post-medieval sunken lane (OA18): "Slightly sunken lane c. 3 - 4m in width and sunken c. 0.6m, formerly a part of a single trackway with OA 27. This feature is also shown on the LiDAR plan continuing on to the west."

Post-medieval trackway (OA27): "Trackway. Although not now physically connected to OA 17 (cut by recent clearance works), the LiDAR and the 1st Edition map of 1872 show the feature connecting OA 17 to the A21. The northern side of the track forms the southern side of the enclosure OA 17, and is a bank 1.5m in width x 0.3m in height bearing coppiced beech. The southern bank is 2m in width x c. 0.4m in height. The track in between the banks is sunken c. 0.2-0.3m in depth and is approximately 3m wide. To the south of the track the ground falls steeply by c. 1.2m to an area of mature and semi-mature oaks, probably between 150 and 200 years old." (1)
