Full Description
(summarised from publication)
During excavations undertaken in Dover town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit, a Roman military bath house was excavated and recorded. A series of at least five drains appear to have served the bath house, the south-eastern drain took water from the south west corner of room seven towards the courtyard and is likely to have crossed the courtyard. Its west wall was constructed of chalk blocks while its eastern side utilised the pre existing wall of the water tank (room 13) located beneath the courtyard. It was capped with greensand blocks and was 25-40cm wide by 25-30cm deep. (1)
