Full Description
A hexagonal Second World War pillbox lies in dense vegetation opposite the service station on the A249. It formed part of the defences of Detling Airfield. It is still visible on 2017 Ordnance Survey data (1)
A 2025 survey described the site : "Type 28 LAA Pillbox. Detling Aerodrome area on opposite side of A249, across road from Detling Dinner. In fenced off piece of land by track leading to WT station. Part of integrated defence system for Detling Airfield. Good overall condition." (2)
