Monument record TR 34 SW 1645 - Area of metalling in SE corner (B44) of the CLBR fort II, located at the Battle of Britain Homes site, Dover.

Summary

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit an area of metalling was located, occupying a large area in the south east corner of the fort, in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. This metalling probably represents a large open area which had been cut by later drains an filled in period two by a latrine block. (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)
