Full Description
(Summarised from publication)
During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain was located in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. 3m of the gully like drain was traced running north-south the north-west corner of the site.
The drain was constructed of a single chalk block measuring 28 by 16 cm in section into which a channel measuring 18 by 6cm had been cut. It was very similar and ran right next to drain B76. (1)
