Full Description
(Summarised from publication)
During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a water pipeline was located in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. It ran north-south, parallel to a barrack block (B24) partly under the bed of drain B80. It consisted of a roughly circular cavity about 19cm in width and it seems highly probable that it would have once contained a wooden water pipe which has since decayed. (1)
