Full Description

Geophyscial survey carried out from 2011 to 2012 found evidence of a large building c. 40m east of Bourne Park Roman villa. The date is unknown for certain but may also be Roman.

From the report: "A second group of negative linear responses .. suggests that these features extend to the northeast. Negative linear responses ...suggest additional structures beyond the edge of the cricket pitch, to the east of the previously discussed features and coincident with the eastern extent of the positive response…"

The investigators concluded that this building was aligned on the Roman villa and contained at least 6 rooms(1)

Following further geophysical survey of the wider area the investigators wrote a final report that suggested that these features might in fact be an eastern wing of the main Roman villa and suggested that there was tentative evidence of a third wing on the northern side (3)
