Full Description
Cropmark of an incomplete ring ditch 48m in diameter, possibly the remains of a later prehistoric enclosure or a large Bronze Age round barrow visible at Manston Golf course at TR 357 6597. Because of this location, it is possible the site is a feature relating to the golf course. It was seen on aerial photographs taken in 1990 this was mapped as part of the Historic England Ramsgate HAZ survey.(1)
An aerial photgraph and LiDAR analysis carried out in 2013 identified a c-shaped curvilinear enclosure at Ozengell
From the report:
"A C-shaped cropmark resembling part of a curvilinear enclosure is visible on colour photographs taken
in the 1990s as a faint pale-toned cropmark in a field of unripe crop.
The ground level within this field has since been lowered and relandscaped and if there were
archaeological remains associated with this cropmark they may have been removed."(2))
