Monument record TR 36 NE 706 - Two linear ditch cropmarks, Lord of the Manor
Summary
Aerial photographic survey in 2013 identified two converging linear ditches. They are oriented south-east to north-west between the railway line and Haine Road and gradually converge as they approach the latter. At TR3560 6541 they intersect with the southern corner of a purported Iron Age enclosure. Later in 2013 the ditches were excavated during an evaluation and produced a small assemblage of late iron age and early Roman sherds.
