Full Description
Is a WWII Type 22 Hexagonal Pillbox, it lies 100 m east of Bimbury Cottages. It originally formed part of the defences of Detling Airfield and is visible on 2012 aerial photography.
To date only seen from Binbury Lane due to muddy state of the footpath/field.
Seems to be a Type 22 with one side almost missing where an embrasure has been opened out.
Current condition. Poor - 03/03/2013 (1,2)
Visited in 2024 as part of the Maidstone 20th century civil and military defence survey. Condition described as Fair overall condition some damage to entrance and one embrasure. (3)
