Full Description
This (Anglican) Garrison Chapel/Church was built (as a chapel) possibly around 1854, rebuilt (as a church)around 1894 and apears to be shown as a earthwork on the OS 4th Edition map. (1) It was replaced between 1939 & 1941 by a new (Anglican) Garrison Chapel.
Built in 1855, it was called St Markis and was of a plain design of Wood & Iron construction. A Western Gallery was added in 1870. It was part blown down by 1936 Gale and formaly demolished in 1837. It was succeded by the Prescent Garrison Church in 1939. (2)
