Monument record TR 34 SW 1772 - Post Medieval chalk block walling fronting onto the former site of Thorntons Lane, Dover.
Summary
During a watching bried undertaken ahead of the construction of a new car park on the eastern side of Bench Street, Dover, a post medieval chalk block wall was observed still standing on the western side of the site. The wall survived for a length of 20m and a few bricks within the wall were of a later 18th - 19th century date. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
