Full Description
During a watching brief undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust on foundation trenches off High Street Dover, an extensive series of infilled 19th century cellars and associated walling were located. These can largely be equated with the structures shown on the early OS Maps of the area. Most of the buildings walls occurred at a depth of about 0.4m below the present ground level, generally with cellars that were at least 1.2m deep. (1)
