Full Description
Ostracod and mollusc remains from dried lake-bed sediments near the HS1 Ebbsfleet elephant site, found in 2006 during the Ebbsfleet, Station Quarter South, evaluation (1). Clayey sediments with visible remnants of polygonal desiccation cracking were seen in TP 31 (TQ 61178 73305) at c. 23m OD, which contained molluscs and ostracods. A thin remnant of similar (and possibly the same) sediments was also seen in TP 33 c. 75m to the east (TQ 61251 73321) at c. 20m OD, where similar molluscs and ostracods were also found (1,2).
