Monument record TQ 76 NW 312 - Roman features, 99 High Street, Rochester

Summary

Roman features, dating from the 1st century AD, cut by later medieval pits. A deep dump of deposits relating to the supposed Roman defensive wall were found sealing these. A number of finds were recovered, including pottery and four coins, but their date is uncertain. Mnay of the features were covered by soil deposits of Roman date. A trial pit did identify the wall but was uanble to extensively excavate.
