Full Description
Part of a group of three chest tombs adjacent to a yew tree in the south east corner of the graveyard.
South Panel: "in memory of William Simmons ? Decemebr 18 1819 (Line below illegible)
North Panel: In memory of Frances Simmons wife of William Simmons who died Jan 6th 18? Aged 82 years
Description: Lower plinth base sandstone with limestone upper plinth supporting chest of cant plinth and simple square corner pilasters and panels. Top stone slightly pitched. Square edged with angles removed.
Defects: Extensive plant growth to plinth. Some open joints and minor settlement. Chest to plinth joint open in areas and slight movement on north east corner. Minor cramp damage at top of south panel and top slab lifted by plant growth. Chest 950mm tall and 1830mm x 890mm below top.
Recommendations: Remove plant growth and repoint plinth. Reove rusted cramps. (1)
