Landscape record TQ 53 NE 66 - Dunorlan Park, Royal Tunbridge Wells

Summary

Mid 19th century grounds and park laid out by Robert Marnock, with water features by James Pulham. The park was purchased by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in 1945 and opened to the public, although the site of the house, demolished in 1958 due to earlier fire damage, was sold for private housing. Most of Marnocks design and many of the mid 19th century features survive within the park. The park has been recently renovated and many of its historic features restored thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund award of £2.1 million.
