Monument record TQ 77 NW 1000 - Ditch Bank and Roman Kiln structures, Cliffe Marshes
Summary
An area of ditch bank, excavated in c.1966. A kiln was revealed and connected with at least one other. Third-century sherds were recovered from the burnt clay.
Summary from record TQ 77 NW 1067:
Roman Kiln, excavated in July 1965. The site had been previously indicated by a small mound and sherds of pottery found in the area. The pottery removed from the kiln dated the structure to the 3rd century.
