Full Description
Chambers Crossing 'Villa', first identified in the nineteenth century, as being in the bank just north of the railway crossing. A search of the vicinity revealed a band of compacted chalk and three fragments of 2nd-3rd century AD Roman pottery. (1).
See also (TR 06 NW 23). [TR 06 SW 23] and [TR 06 SW 246] maybe one and the same site. Given the imprecise location details and the nature of the antiquarian records involved, it is not at present possible to say.
