Full Description
Wessex Archaeology was commissioned by Southern Water Services to carry out archaeological monitoring of test pit and probe hole works in connection with enhancement of Motney Hill Wastewater Treatment Works. Nine test pits and 32 probe holes were recorded, mapping alluvial silts and peat layers. Monitoring of contamination investigations demonstrated that previous activity has resulted in substantial disturbance on the higher ground. One possible archaeological feature was noted during recording of seven further test pits in the vicinity of a proposed access road. (1) (2) (3)
