Full Description
Field walking in June 1996 located two Roman and one medieval pottery and tile concentrations near to Deerton Street. The medieval pottery had a date spread from 12th to 17th centuries, and a possible Saxon sherd of 5th to 6th century was also noted. The medieval spread extended from the east bank Roman site northwards along the course of the river, covering an area of 100 by 400m. South of the spring also numerous Roman and medieval sherds were noted. (1)
