Summary
Site of a Roman building uncovered during the Swale District Archaeological Survey. An auger probe penetrated an opus signum floor. Two tesserae, glass, roof and flue tiles were also recovered from the site. Its relationship with the nearby pottery kins and buildings (TQ 87 SE 16) is unclear. Possibly the site of a villa.

Site of a Roman building uncovered during the Swale District Archaeological Survey. An auger probe penetrated an opus signum floor. Two tesserae, glass, roof and flue tiles were also recovered from the site. Its relationship with the nearby pottery kins and buildings (TQ 87 SE 16) is unclear. Possibly the site of a villa.
19 fragments of Roman ceramic building material and 26 pottery sherds were found on Slayhills Marsh IN 1999 (1).
