Monument record TR 06 SW 1469 - Site of Gunpowder Factory, Eley Brothers Ltd, Harty Ferry

Summary

A small gunpowder works was set up by Eley Brothers on this site near Harty Ferry, with production beginning at the end of the 19th century. After the Fiirst World War. it was amalgamated with two neighbouring works under the holding Company Explosives Trading Ltd (later part of ICI). The works closed shortly afterwards and no visible features remain.
