Full Description
Ring ditch identified from aerial photographs during an assessment of the north Kent coast by Wessex Archaeolog. Photographs (1,2).
The cropmark trace of a large D-shaped ring ditch of uncertain date visible on aerial photographs -Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 05-MAY-2018 and EARTH.GOOGLE.COM JUL-2013. ACCESSED 16-APR-2024 - and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The enclosure is defined by a single broad ditch describing an arc with a floating/disconnected straight NW side. A small pit or ring ditch is located at the SW terminal of the penannular ditch (3-4).
