Two Second World War bomb craters seen at TQ 8843 7657 on 1942 RAF photographs to the east of West Lane on the edge of Grain village. The sites of both have now been built on, lying beneath houses on the western side of Parnell Road. When seen in 1942 the craters were visible as circular depressions with traces of upcast material around them, lying c.12m apart. The northern crater was located at TQ 8843 7658 and had a diameter of c.7m, and the southern crater was located at TQ 8843 7666 and had a diameter of c.9.5m.
