Full Description

Roman site of C1-2 date identified by Upchurch Arch Group, prob assoc with salt/pottery manufacture (1-5). Survey 1999 showed 1st century salt winning debris with hearths in and adjacent, and 2 ditches - possible pottery production. Site extends north under marsh. Indicated on 1st, 2nd and 3rd ed OS maps (6-8).
